Tool Search
Instead of describing every tool up front, the AI searches a catalog and loads only the tools it needs.
Definition
A server-side tool that lets the model search a large tool catalog on demand. Tools marked defer_loading: true are left out of the context window until the model finds and loads the ones it needs.
Example
An agent with 300 MCP tools marked defer_loading: true searches 'calendar', loads two scheduling tools, and leaves the rest out of context.
