A file in your repository that GitHub Copilot automatically adds to every chat, like house rules on the fridge.
Definition
A repository file, .github/copilot-instructions.md, whose contents GitHub Copilot adds to chat requests in that repository. Path-specific variants live in .github/instructions/ as *.instructions.md files with an applyTo glob.
Example
.github/instructions/tests.instructions.md with applyTo: "**/*.test.ts" adds testing rules only when Copilot works on test files.
