Tab Relevance Scoring

Ranking your open files by how useful they are for the current task, so the least useful can be closed.

Definition

A technique used in IDE extensions to rank open editor tabs by their relevance to the current task. Tokalator's scorer computes R in [0, 1] as a weighted sum of import relationships (0.30), language match (0.25), path similarity (0.20), edit recency (0.15), and diagnostic overlap (0.10); low-scoring tabs are candidates to close.

Example

Editing auth.ts: auth.test.ts (imports it, same language) scores high; an old README.md in another folder scores low and is flagged for closing.
